I recently spent a week on Astor ward while I was awaiting diagnosis of gallstones and doing the relevant tests. I was looked after so well by all the staff. I was so impressed by the level of care, the setting, everything. NHS is the best!!!

We were treated in the Private wing of this hospital, it seemed very well run, the staff were efficient and friendly, and my son was very well cared for.

I had bashed my head (was wearing a helmet, which probably saved my life) At my worst I couldn't walk, talk, etc. The ICU looked after me amazingly well. 10 months later I can remember peoples names etc. If the hospital had not been quick to relieve the pressure on my brain. Things may not have been so good, as I have now made a full recover :)

I had a second emergency c-section at Kingston Hospital in January 2016. The maternity doctors, midwives and staff gave me and my baby excellent care. Unfortunately I was admitted to Kingston A&E two and a half weeks later as a result of an and adhesion which meant I had to have emergency surgery on my intestine. I can't thank the doctors, nurses and midwives enough for the care I was given at this very difficult time. I was allowed to recover in a gynaecology ward, instead of a post surgical ward, so that I could keep my baby with me and continue breastfeeding. Kingston hospital and its staff are a credit to the NHS!

I had an appointment with the Rheumatology consultant on Friday 18 March at 2pm. I arrived in plenty of time and reception staff directed me upstairs to Red Zone. There was no signage anywhere to indicate which way to go - you have to go through the Phlebotomy section (which is also coloured red), and there is no reception desk in Red Zone - only a 'nurse' sitting on a chair in the corridor who allowed me to pass by her. After asking her by chance if she could help, she checked my appointment but had no record of it - she had to leave her post and when she came back, asked me to wait in Blue Zone - down the corridor through a set of doors. Again - no signage to indicate that I was in the right place and no reception staff in the waiting area. I waited - and around 2.15pm an unidentified member of staff came up and asked a nurse who had just arrived at the reception desk (but didn't look like she was staying) about equipment for the Rheumatology clinic .... downstairs! It is only because I was lucky enough to overhear that conversation that I was led downstairs to the right place. I wonder if I would have missed my appointment if not. When I got in to see the Rheumatology consultant, it was obvious that there had been last minute room changes - the consultant did not have any equipment/medicines in the room and a male nurse/porter had been sent for to retrieve some. There was also no trolley in the room and the equipment had to be placed on the windowsill. On a positive note, the consultant was very efficient and explained everything well after diagnosing my condition - she suggested I read some relevant literature -however there was no literature available to show me. She suggested I go back upstairs to find some leaflets after my appointment, but there were none on display in the Red or Blue Zones which corresponded to Rheumatology. The consultant's name was Dr Paraslavoula Charalamboue (sp?) Overall I got the impression that internal communication systems at the hospital are not working well. Also signage could be greatly improved in corridors and also on the examining room doors. Also - there seemed to be a lack of staff available to help direct people and reassure them that they're in the right place. I would also like to say that the new reception area for in-patients is unattractive, cheap and unfinished looking. However the staff were very friendly, if not slightly unprofessional in their attitude. Also - comments on the in-house pharmacy, Boots. I think the location of the waiting area is poorly planned and again not signposted well enough. As it is basically positioned in a busy corridor through which many patients in hospital beds and wheelchairs are being moved, it gets congested and porters were constantly having to ask people to move out of the way. I also felt the privacy and dignity of hospital patients is being compromised as everyone stares at the patients going past. I have been visiting Kingston Hospital for many years now, and I feel the overall organisation and staffing levels are not as good as previously.

My comments refer to the Royal Eye Unit at Kingston Hospital. Over many years my family has occasionally been treated at the Eye Unit for conditions varying from 'foreign body in eye' to laser treatment to repair damage to retina and now AMD. We have always received the highest standard of professional care coupled with prompt and unhurried treatment. I can't honestly make any suggestions for improvement!

I received the Triple negative breast cancer by Dr. Davies in March/14. That time I was in early stage and Dr. Davies convince me that the best treatment form is keep the tumour inside and start chemotherapy first . he did not gave me any other option . that time my tumor was just in the breast and maybe a mastectomy could be a better option to cure my disease, but Dr. giles convict me the opposite ! The chemo wasn't enough to control the disease as Dr. Davies assured me!!! He assured total disease control!! Today I had the disease around my body, and suffering a lot with pains and waiting to die !!! I have just 38 yrs old and I found the Cancer on time to be cured, but is impossible to be cured when you start the treatment with a not prepared Dr. like Giles Davies! So If you have cancer and your doctor is Giles Davies, Marina Parton or charles lowell look for others opinion, and if they say your stage will be easy to treat, don't believe! They don't know!!!They don't have the control of the disease !!! If I could came back to 14 of march 2014 I would change doctor and would have made a mastectomy would probably be cancer free, pain free, with the movement of my arm which was damaged in the surgery done by Dr. Giles and a future ahead !!! The mixe of some Dr.as Giles Davies and cancer probable will be a death penalty!!!
